Tripura Police crime branch raids the former minister Pabitra Kar’s residents

Agartala, 10th July: Former minister and Deputy Speaker of Loksabha Pabitra Kar was booked in a vigilance case. Just after one week of this booking of vigilance, the crime branch raided two residents of Pabitra Kar on Friday. Almost 30 documents along with bank accounts of Mr Kar were seized by the Tripura Police.

A vigilance case was booked against Pabitra kar

An official of the Tripura Police Crime Branch informed that the raid was made based on the vigilance case which was booked on 2nd July at the Bodhjungnagar Police Station. The vigilance case claimed that Pabitra Kar owns benami property amounting to Rs 28 crores”.

Tripura left party termed the raid as ‘Political Vendetta’

Tripura Left Front convener Bijan Dhar termed the raids as ‘political vendetta’ against the leaders. Kar said, ” People know all about my possession. Let the Investigation continue, I will also talk with my counsel”.

BJP spokesperson supported the raid

On the other hand, BJP spokesperson Nabendu Bhattacharya claimed all these as “established prima facie”. He said, “We don’t want to politicise the issue. Let the law do its work. If he is guilty, and If he is innocent, he will walk free.”
