TMC leaders held in Tripura for violating Covid-19 restrictions

Agartala, 23rd July: Many Trinamool leaders in Tripura were arrested for violating covid-19 restrictions. TMC’s Tripura unit president Asish Lal Sinha was one of the arrested leaders of TMC. The incident happened at Unakoti district of Tripura.

Total 21 Trinamool Congress leaders were arrested in Tripura

Tripura police informed that total 21 leaders of TMC were arrested as they were involved in unlawful gatherings and violating the restrictions of covid-19. Even after being warned by the Tripura police the leaders did not stop the gathering and continued their activities.

The leaders was sent to Jail for violating the covid-19 restrictions

The arrested leaders were then sent to temporary jail and arrested in the presence of executive district magistrate. The name of Unakoti district TMC president, Anjan Chakraborty was also included in this list of arrested party leaders.

According to Trinamool Congress of Tripura, the number of arrested party leaders were 82

On the other hand TMC state chief said that, “When I was hoisting the party flag to pay homage to the martyrs at Gournagar, the police arrested 82 party leaders and activists.” The number of arrested Trinamool Congress leaders is not confirmed till now.
