National Press Day observed in several districts of Assam

Guwahati, 17th November: The Jorhat district administration observed National Press Day on Tuesday.

Many districts of Assam observed the day

The main objective of this celebration was to make the people aware about the importance of press. Many other districts of Assam such as Tinsukia, Sivasagar have also celebrated National press day.  at the conference hall of Jorhat circuit house.

Hundreds of journalist participated in this meeting

Jorhat Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar Barman was the chairman of the meeting. District Information and Public Relation officer Saradi Gogoi anchored the meeting. Several journalists from different parts of the district participated in this program. Some of them told about their stories and how they have survived to be honest journalists.

Eminent journalists were felicitated in this program

Additional Deputy Commissioner Damudar Barman was present on the occasion. The district administration as well as the entire state of Assam are very much proud of their journalists who are always ready to reach the important news to the house of people. The district administrations of the state felicitated senior journalists Niranjan Mahanta, Diganta Buragohain, Lalit Bora, Jogesh Ojha, Shankab Kausik Baruah, Nava Jyoti Baruah, Devajit Baruah and Ramen Saikia.
