Itanagar, 8th July: The Yak owners of Arunachal Pradesh will get an insurance policy for yaks by the National Insurance Company limited. As the number of Yaks are reducing day by day The Arunachal government is very concerned about the matter. This is a historic moment for the Arunachal Pradesh Government as the National Insurance company has approved the insurance policies for yak owners.
Yak owners are facing difficulties due to climatic changes
Due to increasing population, the yak rearing areas are also facing climate changes with a huge reduction in the number of Yaks. It is reported that more than 500 yaks died due to heavy rainfall in the North Sikkim area in 2019. This incident led to a heavy financial burden on the yak owners.
The insurance policy will give financial assistance to the owners of Arunachal Pradesh
Keeping all the factors in mind, the National Insurance Company limited has decided to approve the insurance policies for the year honours in Arunachal Pradesh. This will also be helpful for the owners to get financial assistance even during the climatic issues and uncertainties.
The insurance policy will be activated for both one year and three year
According to the policy, an indemnity of 80% of the insured amount would be provided for all the yaks at a premium rate of 4% for one year and 10% for three years.
