National Education Day celebrated in Lakhimpur

Guwahati, 12th November: The Education Department of North Lakhimpur celebrated the National Education Day on Thursday.

National education day is celebrated to honour Abul Kalam Azad

On this day tribute was given to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first Education Minister of India. National Education Day is celebrated on November 11 on the birthday of the eminent educationist. The first education Minister of India was remembered on this occasion.

The contribution of Abul Kalam Azad for education was highlighted on this day

Areas which were highlighted on this auspicious day are women education, Compulsory Universal Primary Education, Free and Fair Education for all children till the age of 14. Besides this, the importance of vocational education and skill development were also discussed in this program.

Many eminent person took part in this program on national education

Assistant professors Dr. Binod Chetia, Dhananjay Mandal also took part in the programme. He told everyone about the importance of education and how it should be spread all over India. A speech competition was also organized among the students of the department. The interest of students in this program showed their interest in spreading education all over India.
