Guwahati, 1st July: More than 30,000 children are found positive after testing during second wave of pandemic

The National Health Mission announced out of the 2.8 lakh Covid-positive cases in Assam, almost 34,606 fell in the under-18 age group.

Swab samples are being collected

Health workers are collecting swab samples of more children. This accounts for 12 per cent of the total cases which are reported since April. 5,755 children under five years of age tested positive and 28,851 infections were recorded in the six to 18 age group. A team has been made to look into the matter and make the parents of the children concerned about the pandemic situation and the guidelines.

Taking care of children is necessary

The parents should be careful that the children are following covid-19 guidelines. They should take care of the children very well to reduce the number of covid-19 positive children in Assam. As any vaccine for children has not been introduced yet, a high quality care is needed. The CM of Assam, Himanta biswa Sharma announced that strict guidelines will be provided soon to control the measures.
