Four youths of Tezpur gets arrested for killing endangered birds

Guwahati, 29th June: Four youths are arrested by the officials of Assam Forest department for allegedly feeling endangered birds. It is is informed by the forest department that the four persons killed 12 endangered birds who were protected legally as endangered species.

Local people handed over the accused to the forest department

All of them were caught red handed by the local people and were handed to the officials of Assam Forest department for being engaged in such antisocial activity. Arkie’s has been registered against them under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.

The accused persons are identified

The accused persons for the death of 12 endangered birds in Tezpur are identified as Sunil Dhela (27), Dipak Dhela (24), Deben Kopi (19) and Biraj Nagadwar (25).

12 endangered birds were brutally killed

It is found that the endangered birds killed by the four include 2 house sparrows, 3 cuckoos and 4 doves. The CM of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sharma is very much concerned about the increasing loss of endangered species in the state. He has given strict orders and guidelines to the forest departments to save the wildlife creatures of Assam.
