Chief guest minister Urkhao Gwra hoisted Tricolor flag in Chirang district

Chirang, 18th August: The 75th Independence Day was celebrated in  Chirang district with pomp and gaiety on Sunday. The program wad dedicated to the Saheed Jawans.

Main ceremony was held at the district parade ground

The Minister for Handloom and Textile, Sericulture, Soil Conservation and Bodoland Welfare department hoisted the National Flag. The entire program was held at the district parade ground.

Chief guest minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma told about the significance of the day

The chief guest Minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma spoke about the significance of the day in the ceremony. He also highlighted all the works of the Assam Government for the development of the state. The ceremonial march was dedicated to the family members of Saheed Jawans in the Indian forces.

The entire program gave a positive vibe to the society

The whole program send a positive message to the society. Saheed Raheswar Barua, Saheed Sadan Basumatary, and Saheed Dharmendra Ray of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were also honoured in the society. It was also announced that the three districts of Assam will be named after the three jawans.
