#Breaking :Mahasamsan warns of strike by cremators (Domes) for non-payment of arrears of earlier work in Battala crematorium in city, Agartala

The domes of Battala – Mahasamsan is not getting their dues since last so many months even after burying the COVID victims dead bodies. In addition when the patients dies in home isolation, they have to bring the dead body later but they have to pay the money and it is not being paid, mentioned the Mahasamsan sources.

As per the state govt. order, the Domes are supposed to get Rs. 500/- per corona dead body in addition to their normal charges but they were not given that amount since many months. In demand of that since more than one week there had been more than one meeting with the west district and administrative officials of AMC but after not getting any response yesterday evening they threatened that the bodies would not be buried if their arrears were not settled on their behalf.

Later, Agartala Pur Nigam Commissioner,  Sadar sub-divisional magistrate and others hold a special meeting. At the meeting held at Agartala Pur Nigam Conference Hall, the demands of Doms were accepted and it was assured that  their arrears would be settled soon. And again it was reassured to them that  if Corona’s dead body is buried, Rs 500 rupees will be  given and if Corona’s dead  body is brought from home and buried, another 500 rupees will be  given.
