Assam:Vedic rituals will be performed in Ambubachi mela at Kamakhya Temple

Guwahati, 23rd June: Assam government has decided to perform only vedic rituals in the Kamakhya temple of Assam. The Ambubachi will begin on 22nd June and will be extended till 26th June. Ambubachi mela is a very famous event in the Kamakhya temple of Assam. The event has been cancelled this year.

Assam police will monitor and review the grounded situation

The temple authority has strictly announced that no devotees will be allowed to enter the temple premises. Ambubachi mela would not be celebrated this year keeping in mind the pandemic situation of Covid-19. District magistrate has requested the Assam police to support so that the situation can be controlled.

Visitors or devotees will not be allowed in the temple

No devotees or visitors will be given entry in the temple. The priest of the temple will perform vedic rituals on these days of Ambubachi. Kamakhya temple is closed from the month of May due to the outbreak of coronavirus.

Opening date of the temple has not been announced till now

The temple authority does not have any plan of opening the temple premises until the situation comes into contro. They have requested the devotees to pray staying safe at home at least for this year.
