Assam Rifles recovered 250 kg of IED at Manipur border

Imphal, 11th November: Assam Rifles have recovered a large quantity Improvised Explosive Device (IED). The weight of this explosive was around 250 kg.

The recovered explosive was handed to Moreh police station

One of the Official sources said that the Assam Rifles conducted border patrolling along Myanmar’s Moreh border. The team recovered two big bags containing 250 kg IED and other explosive materials on Sunday night. The recovered explosives were handed over to the Moreh police station in Tengnoupal district. Legal actions were taken later based by the police department.

The youth entrants fled away after seeing the police team

A police officer said “At least four youths in two foreign made bikes tried to enter India through the Moreh border from Myanmar’s Namphalong area, but after seeing the security personnel they threw the bags containing the IED and other explosive materials and fled to the other side of the border”.

It is one of the greatest achievements of Assam rifles

Previous incidents of Assam rifles in reducing Anti Social activities in northeastern States is really appreciable. The recent incident at Manipur is also one of the great achievements of Assam rifles.
