Assam Govt Announced: Rs 3500 per month and other assistance for children who lost their Parents due to COVID-19

As a relief package for COVID -19 victims Assam Government on Saturday announced Rs 3,500 to every child who are minors and are orphan because of COVID-19. The scheme was as par with the NDA government’s completion of 7 years. The scheme is named as Shishu Seva Scheme which was announced at a conference in Guwahati by Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. . He said that the children who have lost their parents due to COVID-19.

He also declared that if the child has a earning parent then the child will get 3500 rupees per month through this scheme which will directly transferred to the bank account of the parent. For this, Rs 2000 will be from the Central Government scheme which comes with some conditions. The girl child who have lost their parents and are adolescent will be accommodated to Hostels of institutions and their cost of education will be taken care by the Governement.

 

The Government also announced that the scheme also provide assistance to young woman who have lost their parents, for their marriage. They will receive a one-time financial package, an amount of Rs 50,000 and one tola of gold. The scheme also ensures laptops for the children to impart skill education. Similarly in state of Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh the same type of scheme was announced today by Chief Minister Biplab Deb and Chief Minister Pema Khandu respectively.
