Assam boxer Lovlina Borgohain ensures medal at Tokyo Olympics defeating Chinese Taipei’s Nien-Chin Chen

Guwahati, 30th July: Assam boxer Lovlina Borgohain qualifies for playing in the semifinals of Tokyo olympics.

Entire India is very much happy with the winning news of Lovlina

She has won the quarter final of the Olympics by defeating Chinese Taipei’s Nuen Chin Chen. It is a really great achievement of the Assam girl and every citizen of India is expecting her to win in the Olympics.

The boxing federation of India has tweeted after the winning of Lovlina

The Boxing Federation of India (BFI) tweeted:  “CREATES HISTORY @LovlinaBorgohai puts up a brilliant performance and secures 1st medal for Flag of India from boxing in 69 kg at @Tokyo2020. She beat Chinese Taipei’s Chen NC 4-1 in QF to reach the semis”.

The 23 year old girl is the first girl from Assam to qualify for Olympics

Earlier on 27th July, Lovlina defeated Germany’s 35-year-old Nadine Apetz and qualified for the quarters round. The 23 years old girl is the first woman from Assam to qualify for the Olympics. It is ensured that Lovlina will win a medal for India but whether it will be gold or not can only be known after the final round of the Olympics.
