Arunachal Pradesh forms high powered ministerial committee to solve border disputes

Itanagar, 19th July: Arunachal Pradesh government has constituted a High Powered Ministerial Committee (HPMC) to get rid of controversial issues related to Arunachal Assam border disputes.

The charge of making all decisions related to Assam Arunachal border dispute will be on the committee

The high-powered ministerial committee will be responsible to make decisions related to the Assam Arunachal border dispute which are affecting the peace of the two States. The HPMC will act as the top level Committee in the dispute resolution process.

District level committees will also be constituted

 The high powered committee has further appealed for the immediate constitution of District Level Committees (DLC) in the districts which share land borders with Assam. Deputy Commissioner of the concerned district will head the district level committees.

The members of the district level committees are likely to make decisions related to the districts

The members of DLC will be MLAs of the districts, Zilla Parishad Chairpersons, divisional forest officer, Superintendent of Police and all administrative officers of border subdivisions. All the border disputes will be resolved and monitored by the members of the district level committees formed for better management of the disputes.
