Arunachal Pradesh CM disappointed with the work of North East council

Itanagar, 20 th July: Arunachal chief minister Pema Khandu showed his resentment against the activities of North East council.

There is “Nothing concrete” in the functions of NE council

CM Pema Khandu said that there is nothing concrete in the activities of the north east council and the council is only working as a funding agency. Only funding should not be the goal of such an important council of North East India. According to Mr Khandu, more planning and efforts are required to make the activities of North Eastern Council better.

North East council should act like a think tank

The North East Council must be updated and work like a regional think tank. Key issues in the north eastern states should be the main target of this Council. All the major decisions should also be taken after a detailed research.

According to Mr.Khandu, NE council has much more potential

Mr Khandu said that northeast counsel is not using its powers and potentiality. He also said, “North East Council can be to the Northeast what the NITI Ayog is to the country — a one-point solution centre.”
