Arunachal Pradesh Chief Information Commissioner Dr. Joram Begi Retires

Itanagar, 11th July: The staff of Arunachal Pradesh Information Commission bid farewell on Friday with a heavy heart to the Chief Information Commissioner Dr Joram Begi. Mr. Begi retired from his post after serving the Arunachal Pradesh information commission for almost five years.

Joram Begi served APIC for five years since 2016

Begi was sworn in as CIC in July 2016. Begi did a lot for the commission during his tenure. During his tenure, the Commission’s office was shifted from Hotel Bomdila to the present premises. This shifting gave the Commission a proper identity.

Awareness programs during the tenure of Begi

The Commission conducted an awareness programs on the RTI (Right to Information Act, 2005). The awareness programs on RTI were held in almost every district headquarters of the state. Besides this an annual conference of the Commission also used to be arranged by CIC at Itanagar, the capital of Arunachal Pradesh.

Online conferences were held during the pandemic of covid-19

During the difficult time of COVID-19 Pandemic Mr. Begi led the Commission with regular arrangements of hearings through digital platforms so that the activities of CIC did not stop. The contribution of Joram Begi will surely be remembered by the CIC.
