Akhil Gogoi hits out the cabinet decision to allow online liquor sale

Guwahati, 16th July: Rajior Dal President Akhil Gogoi flays the decision of Assam cabinet mission of allowing online liquor sale within the area of Guwahati Municipal Corporation. Akhil protested the idea of online liquor selling and appealed to focus on Covid-19 vaccination drive instead.

The Assam Cabinet has approved online sale as well as home delivery of liquor within the Guwahati Municipal Corporation Online delivery of liquor is approved only for a month on an experimental basis.

Assam government wants to reduce the crowd at liquor shops

The decision of online liquor selling approval was taken to minimize the crowd at liquor shops during the pandemic situation. Akhil demanded an aggressive vaccination drive which was committed by the Assam Government earlier.

The common people should get the hell of the state government

The leader also pleaded to help the lockdown hit people such as daily wagers, shopkeepers, rickshaw pullers and the people involved with the tourism industry. Online selling of liquor is not necessary for living and the government should work on more important matters at this pandemic situation.
