Udalguri, 21th November: A 35-year-old lady was crushed to death by a wild elephant in Udalguri district.
The elephants damaged building and crops
According to the report, the victim identified as Somrani Tamang. She attacked by a herd of wild elephants in Udalguri. The hungry elephants have repeatedly damaged buildings and enormous quantities of crops in the vicinity.
Approximately 5 elephants was involved in the damages
It is informed that the lives of around 20-25 individuals were in danger. The situation is being investigated by the department of forest service. It is also known that almost 5 elephants were involved in the damages.
Previously many women were killed by the herd of elephants
The victim was identified as Tilotoma Ray (70) and was killed at her home. On 9th October a 21-year-old woman Jyoti Tanti in Assam’s Golaghat also died with similar situation while she was taking bath in the village river. Last but not the least, a BJP leader, Rajib Boro was also crushed by a herd of elephants near the Rani reserve forest.
