A low intensity earthquake hits Assam

Guwahati, 16th July: Several districts of Assam experienced a low intensity earthquake on Friday morning. The low intensity earthquake had a magnitude of 3.4. The earthquake took place at about 8.39 in the morning and the epicentre was reported to be at Nagaon in central Assam.

Any report of loss of life or damage of property has not been revealed yet

According to the report of the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake did not damage any public or private property. There was no immediate report of any loss of life as a consequence of this earthquake.

The number of earthquake are increasing day by day in the state of Assam

Assam is experiencing frequent earthquakes in this year and this made the Assam government concerned. The depth of the earthquake was found to be10 km. Though the intensity of the earthquakes are not high, people are still frightened due to frequent earthquakes.

The earthquake occurred in Tezpur of Assam

According to the bulletin, the place of the earthquake was 40 km west of Tezpur on the northern bank of Brahmaputra river.

The people panicked and ran out of their homes. Northeastern states experience the earthquakes frequently.
