13 police personnel in Nagaland suspended for hiding seizure of 10 gold bars from smugglers

Kohima, 23rd October: 13 Nagaland police personnel were suspended for not disclosing the seizure of 10 gold bars from smugglers.

The police personnel did not inform the authority

The police personnel did not inform the authority about the seizure of the gold bars. The incident was found to have happened in the month of September but the police authority got to know about this now.

A criminal case was filed against the police personnel

According to the sources, a criminal case was filed against the police personnel of the narcotics cell department of Nagaland police. He was alleged to be involved in the misconduct of law enforcers. One of the Police officials said, “Strict actions will be taken against the police personnel and the seizure of gold bars will also be done.”

The seizure of gold bar was done on 10th September, 2021

Senior Superintendent of Police (Crime) and PRO police headquarters, Manoj Kumar told reporters in Kohima on Friday “At least 13 police personnel seized 10 gold bars which were Manning at the inter-stack gate at Khuzama of Kohima. The incident took place on 10th September of 2021.
